The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services on the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency stated it's alarmed with regards to the superior number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office devoted to service the area regularly. The assistance position produced for intervention ordeals a large influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for that office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service status sassa point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to allow the servicing of all customers and maximize use of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
